Maurice is a Veteran of The Afghanistan-Iraq War. He served in the U.S. NAVY for nearly a decade. His assignments sent him to the Middle East (Mediterranean Sea), Bahrain, Odessa Ukraine and many other ports and deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Shield and Operation Iraq Freedom.
He returned to the States as a Disabled Veteran and thru the Veterans Administration pursued higher education and received his Bachelor Degree in Business Finance in 2018 from Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina. Currently, Maurice is a candidate for a MBA-Executive Master Degree from UNCC (University of North Carolina-Charlotte).
He credits his faith, and the perpetual support of his fellow Veteran Family for his passion to help other former servicemen. In particular, the enduring spirit of Lt. T. Brandan McCombie, a pilot and mentor of Maurice, who lost his life in September 2002 as they prepared to engage in full scale combat operations during the War.
Lt. “Lt. Bran” McCombie always encouraged us to “excel and give it your all”…I have never failed to live by his guidance….thus … SUITED For Veterans is my fulfilling that promise to him…to be ready to assist in anyway I can for those who served and did return.
Maurice was also assigned to the Multinational Anti-Piracy Coalition known as combined Task Force 150 (CTF 150). The areas of engagement included Mogadishu Somalia. Currently, he is also a Board Member of the Charlotte-Mecklenberg Continuum of Care organization.
